About Me

Who am I?

I’m a software developer that interns for NASA and an undergraduate computer science student at Virginia Tech. After moving to Blacksburg, I found myself enjoying the outdoors more so I haven’t been working on many personal projects since I’m no longer constantly sitting at my desk at home. I’ve found myself biking a lot around Blacksburg once I got my bike and using it as my main mode of transportation even if the hills haven’t been good for my knees.

What types of projects do I work on?

I mainly work in Rust working on web/network based projects but early on I worked on programming language compilers. I also dabble a bit in electronics hardware like my tritium project which is a transistor level balanced ternary computer. Most of my recent work is based around open source large language models using llama.cpp and HuggingFace transformers in chat or automation applications. I also have a homelab that I host this website and other projects on running Proxmox and Debian 12 LXC containers.

Work Experience

  • STEM Takes Flight and NASA OSTEM
    • Intern - June 2023 - Dec 2024: My main work was as a full stack web developer for the Advaced Air Mobility (AAM) Architecture Portal under the Air Mobility Pathfinders (AMP) project. The backend was built using Flask with minimal dependencies such as requests to interface with other parts of the backend such as the llama.cpp server hosting our finetuned LLM, and a separate search server for certain functions on the AAM Architecture Portal. The frontend was built using Alpine.js and TailwindCSS to keep dependencies low, styling similar to other NASA sites, and to keep the website responsive and accessible.
  • Louisa County Public Schools
    • Part-time Technician - July 2021 – June 2023 : I primarily worked help desk, repaired damaged devices, and did various other tasks to keep the operations smooth. I was stationed at Moss-Nuckols Elementary School during the later portion of my time at LCPS but before then I was floating around the various schools as needed. At the end of my time there, I worked on Regenald.
    • Technology Intern - August 2018 – July 2021: I mainly worked small shifts at the middle school and high school help desks and fixed broken student chromebooks using spare parts we had on hand.
